Kuala Selangor Fireflies Tour

The tour kicks off as you are be picked up from your Kuala Lumpur hotel in the afternoon to be taken far from the hustle and bustle to Kuala Selangor, the former capital of the state of Selangor and home to Kampung Kuantan, a calm town serving as the dwelling house of the world's biggest firefly colonies.   The first sight for visit is Kota Melawati (earlier known as Fort Altingsburg) located on Bukit Melawati(Melawati Hill), a hill at the mouth of the Selangor River and explore the ruins and remnants of the past and enjoy the encompassing view of the Selangor coastline .Here you can spot out Silver-Leafed Monkeys and Long-Tailed Macaques  and feed them and watch their activity. You also get to see the Batu Hampar or Execution Rock at Bukit Melawati, a site where traitors were beheaded and The Royal Mausoleum, a burial ground for the first three Sultan Of Selangor, the fabulous 100 staircase, which was made to move up Selangor Hill ,a legendary execution square.  With the advent of the dusk, you proceed to feast upon exotic seafood, flavored in style of Selangor.    After the flavorful supper, take a boat ride to Kampung Kuantan and delight yourself in the lavish view of nature as the rowers push upstream through mangroves. With the murkiness of the night, you'll witness one of nature's most miraculous phenomena – little twinkling lights of many fireflies swarming around the trees.    The boat ride will last between 30-45 minutes, and you'll be driven back again to your hotel a short time later with unforgettable memories.
